Welcome to ILSW 2012

LIPI-Uni Duisburg Essen-ITB International Logistics Seminar & Workshop (ILSW) 2012 is a workshop that allows stakeholders such as government, logistic operators, private sectors, and etc to share each other their experience, problem as well as success story in logistic area. Having this forum, they can identify the existing implementation gap and obstacle in practice, and subsequently take necessary actions accordingly. In order to explore any potential solutions and improvement, it will be invited as well researchers and logistic experts from Germany. The country is chosen as primarily partner in this event because of its success story in logistic which. From the country, Indonesia may take advantage of world class logistic best practice, cutting edge technology and know-how. Obviously, the implementation adjustment is inevitably due to different geography between both of Germany and Indonesia.

It is expected that this collaboration will be able to enrich the perspective of logistic stakeholders and brings new innovation to resolve the logistic bottlenecks in Indonesia. As a follow-up from this workshop, the concrete cooperation between Germany and Indonesia especially in logistic area should be initiated and established. In addition, the attendance of international financial institution like GIZ, World Bank and DEG (Deutsche Investitions – und Entwicklungsgesellschaft) is highly expected to present potential financial program and schemes to support either research or commercial project in developing countries.

This year’s international conference will be hosted in Jakarta on 8th-9th May 2012 by the cooperating committees, LIPI, Uni Duisburg Essen and ITB.
